29MW Automobile Tire Factory Roof Mounting System | Anhui, China

June 11, 2026

1. Project Overview

•Project Background:
Located in Anhui Province, this project was developed by Antaisolar with a complete rooftop mounting solution for a 29MW distributed PV power plant. By utilizing the extensive rooftop resources of a modern tire manufacturing facility, the project deeply integrates clean energy into the energy-intensive tire production process, serving as a benchmark for green transformation and energy structure optimization in the manufacturing industry.

•Project Requirements: The project required the installation of a distributed PV system on large-scale industrial metal rooftops. The core demand was a customized mounting solution capable of safely withstanding local wind and snow loads, achieving non-penetrating installation to protect roof integrity, and efficiently adapting to expansive continuous rooftops. Specifically, the solution needed to: (1) Strictly comply with the local design loads of 0.31kN/m² wind pressure and 0.519kN/m² snow load to ensure structural safety and stability under extreme weather conditions; (2) Adopt non-penetrating installation technology to preserve the waterproof integrity and long-term safety of the metal roof; (3) Improve installation efficiency through an optimized installation scheme while minimizing disruption to the tire factory’s continuous production operations.

2.
Project Challenges

2.1 Structural Safety Challenges Under High Snow Loads
• The project site has a basic snow load of 0.519kN/m², which is higher than in many other regions, placing stringent requirements on the snow resistance capability of the mounting system. The structure needed sufficient strength to prevent deformation or collapse caused by excessive snow accumulation, while the module fixation method also had to ensure no slippage or damage under snow and ice loads.

2.2 Non-Penetrating Installation and Roof Waterproof Protection Challenges
• Tire manufacturing facilities require strict roof waterproofing standards. Any roof penetration or improper installation could result in water leakage, potentially affecting precision production equipment and raw material storage. Therefore, the mounting system had to achieve non-penetrating, damage-free installation while adapting to the specific profile of the metal roof to ensure roof integrity.

2.3 Installation Efficiency and Coordination Challenges Under Continuous Production
• Tire manufacturing plants typically operate continuously. Construction activities needed to avoid disrupting logistics, production, and personnel movement. This required the mounting solution to feature a simplified installation process and support multi-zone parallel construction to shorten the overall project timeline and reduce labor costs.

3.
Solution
In response to the local load conditions and the rooftop characteristics of the tire manufacturing facility, Antaisolar provided a customized metal rooftop mounting solution featuring a flush-mounted, single-row multi-column portrait layout.

3.1 High Snow Load Solution: High-Strength Standing Seam Clamps and H-Rail System
•50mm standing seam clamps were selected to securely connect to the standing seam metal roof through mechanical clamping. Pull-out resistance tests verified reliable performance under both 0.519kN/m² snow load and 0.31kN/m² wind pressure conditions.
•The main supporting structure utilized 1.2mm-thick H-shaped rails, combined with 50mm mid and end clamps to provide dual fixation for the PV modules. The system was structurally designed and validated through simulation based on local wind and snow load parameters to ensure safety under extreme weather conditions.

3.2 Roof Protection and Non-Penetrating Installation Solution
•The standing seam clamps required no roof penetration or welding, relying entirely on mechanical clamping force to secure the system onto the roof ribs. This fundamentally eliminated leakage risks and preserved the integrity of the roof waterproof layer, making it particularly suitable for tire manufacturing facilities with stringent production environment requirements.

3.3 Efficient and Low-Interference Construction Solution
•The modular design of “clamp + rail +rail nut” significantly simplified on-site installation procedures. Only minimal fastening operations were required to complete module fixation, greatly reducing interference with normal factory operations.
•All components were prefabricated and labeled in the factory, supporting simultaneous installation across multiple teams and rooftops. This approach effectively shortened the overall construction schedule while maintaining installation quality.

Project Results

•Successful Grid Connection with Stable and Efficient Operation:
The 29MW rooftop distributed PV project at the automotive tire manufacturing base in Anhui Province, has been successfully completed and connected to the grid. The customized metal rooftop mounting solution provided by Antaisolar, featuring high snow-load resistance, non-penetrating installation, and efficient deployment, perfectly adapted to the large-scale industrial rooftops and provided stable green power for the tire manufacturing facility.

•Significant Economic and Environmental Benefits: Operating primarily under a “self-consumption” model, the clean electricity generated by the project directly supplies the tire production process, significantly reducing the company’s external electricity procurement costs while cutting substantial annual carbon emissions. The project supports the enterprise in achieving its energy-saving, emission-reduction, and green supply chain management goals. This project successfully demonstrated the feasibility of deploying distributed PV systems in high snow-load regions and continuously operating manufacturing facilities. Its experience in high-load structural design, non-penetrating installation technology, and efficient construction management provides a valuable and replicable reference for the low-carbon transformation of other energy-intensive manufacturing industries, carrying strong industry demonstration significance.
